Born at the usual age of 0 in Haarlem, The Netherlands, I attended, besides the Montessori grade and high school, an
Art school-one-and-a-half year - and ended up as filmmaker and newsreel cameraman in Hilversum.
I became a Christian at 17 years of age, and attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC USA as a cinema major. After a Masters degree (with a lot of Bible)and marriage with Nancy Lind, and after our first two children were born, I went back to Holland to start a church planting ministry. First in Haarlem, then Geleen, Venlo and Landgraaf in the province of Limburg.
After a ministry of 30 years, a total of 5 children, the death of Nancy in 1999, I married Femmie van Santen. We still live in Landgaaf. I keep busy with preaching, doing guidetours at our themepark Mondo Verde, and making television programs for children (Bert Buis TV) at the hospital of Maastricht.
For the rest: we like to see our (grand)children, as much as possible, and travel.
